The rate you quoted is not the rate you got
Two revision rounds you did not sell, twenty six hours of scoping, and sixty days of terms. Here is the arithmetic we run before every estimate.
Against the discovery phase
Most discovery is a way of billing for the week it takes to admit the brief was wrong. We charge for it anyway, and say so.
A table is usually the answer
Cards look designed. Tables are readable. A short defence of the least fashionable layout in the business.
What a deposit is actually for
Not cash flow. The deposit is the only part of a contract that makes payment terms stop costing you money.
Nine rules for a type scale
